Quinn now insists to feed himself ("do it SELF"). So, we've decided to eat out more often. Yes, we leave a good tip.

If you're wondering what he keeps saying, it's "bugs". I downloaded an iPhone app for toddlers that is basically touch the bugs, and he LOVES it. Every time he sees my iPhone, he says "bugs". About a hundred times.

The problem with toddlers and cameras

If you're wondering why we don't post more pictures or movies of Quinn lately, it's because it tends to go something like this.

• Quinn does something incredibly smart or cute.
• Mom or Dad tries to capture child on film, for purposes of posterity (and/or blog).
• Quinn, astutely aware of what both the camera and the iPhones are, immediately wants to "see 'em", i.e. see himself on film.

If you don't believe me, here is an example. Quinn was feeding himself mashed sweet potatoes with a spoon. I tried to be sly about the camera, but he was immediately on to me.

He really was feeding himself. Really.

Apparently, other people don't have the same problem capturing Quinn on film, as seen here (thanks Valerie). Ah, he is just not wise to their cameras...yet.

I guess I'll just have to rely on other people's blogs for a while.

18 month stats

Well I had my 18 month checkup today, and as much as I loooove watching the train go around the waiting room and to play with the toys there, I was happy to find out I don't need to go back for a regular visit (or shots) until I'm 2! Yippee!

18 month stats:

• Height 33.25" (75th %)
• Weight 29.3 lbs (90th %)
• Head 49.8 cm (95th %)

Pretty much the same proportions, just bigger and taller, and saying oh so many words.

For any family out there thinking of visiting - NOW is the time! My cuteness factor is at an all time high.

Kite Day

It was a beautiful 80 degree day here in Austin today and we all went to the Zilker Park Kite Festival!

Time to put the kite together.

This month the babies came over to our house - YAY! Fletcher's parents stayed in with mom and dad while Zoe and Aiden's parents went out. Why they would want to leave their kids behind is beyond me...

Later I'll photoshop Fletcher in his spot between Zoe and Aiden.
